ED the Gay Donkey was born out of 3 friends extreme boredom. At first they had a guitar with no strings, pots and pans and no talent. With practice and time ED the Gay Donkey turned into a alternative emo nerd punk rock quartet like never before.

Here is briefly our history. In the begining we were three. Andrew and Me on guitar and Steve on stool and box. Later on Steve switched to actual drums and when I got a bass I switched to that.

Since the begining we wrote songs, but it wasn't till later on did they actully get good.

After doing cheap recordings for awhile two of our tapes found it's way to Nine Ball Lounge's Drummer Cory. They invited us on a 4 house tour of Philadelphia spanning at least 5 dates in the summer. Also during this time we visited a tiny club in North Philly called Club HP where we did several open mic nights. We also went to Ground Control Recording for our first profesional demo.

While we were waiting for our second session at Ground Control, we thought it would be cool to get another guitarist, Enter Theresa Digregrio, and she fit right in. She lended her voice for the final track Calinish. Her first show was at Club HP at open mic night with Nine Ball lounge, which ironicly got our show on a Friday night.

Our mission is simply, "To rock the world", and our motto is even simpilar "Why Not?" so join us.
